He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Storla, SD. Glen grew up on the family farm in Storla, SD and attended elementary country school near the family farm. He graduated from Letcher High School in 1950. Glen went into the Army and served three years in Germany as Corporal with the 16th Infantry. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and National Defense Service Medal. After the Army, Glen went to Universal Television System Training in Kansas City, KS and graduated in 1956. Glen farmed by Gayville and Woonsocket before going to work for S&T Appliances and Trailers. He then went into business for himself, starting Hill’s TV and then later to Hill’s TV and Appliances for fifteen years. He also was an apartment manager in Sioux Falls, SD for several years. Glen married Alleene Fairley in November 1955 in Gayville, SD and then married Vina Chance on March 3, 1962 in Yankton, SD. Glen is survived by his son: Doug (Patty) Hill of Roseville, CA; daughter: Kim Kappel of Yankton, SD; grandchildren: Sam and Ashley Kappel of Tucson, AZ, Ryan Kappel of Portland, Or, Becky and Brandon Markoe of Red Wing, MN and Jacob & Jessica Hill of Roseville, CA; sisters-in-law, Karen Farus of Sioux Falls, SD and Vera Zens of Mitchell, SD; brother-in-law, Harold Wilson of Armour, SD and many nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alleene Fairley Hill and Vina Chance Hill; daughter, Kelly Hill; son, Bradley Hill, brothers: Berdean, Roger and Norris Hill; sister, Murlene Wilson; sister-in-law, Earylne Hill and brother-in-law, Bruce Farus.
