Obituary of Kenneth Herrboldt

Kenneth was born October 20, 1933 on the family farm south of Olivet, SD to Jacob and Elsie (Gall) Herrboldt.  He attended Menno High School and SDSU.  Kenneth married Ann Gluenkin on March 18, 1960 at First Reformed Church, Sioux Falls, SD and were married for 58 years.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 – 1956.  He was a corporal in medical records at the Tripler Army Hospital in Oahu, Hawaii.  Kenneth was a bus driver for 20 years.  He had great fun with all of his bus kids over the years.  He was a member of Salem Reformed Church in Menno, SD where he served twelve years as an elder and deacon and served a term as Sunday School Treasurer.  He also served on the Board of Directors for the Menno Olivet Care Center. 

Kenneth loved John Deere Tractors, his Black Angus Cattle, playing basketball for Menno High School, in the Army and for the Menno City Team.  He was a fan of the Menno Wolves, SDSU, Kansas Jayhawks and New York Yankees.  He loved playing sports with the grandkids and watching all their sporting events and music activities. 

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Ann Herrboldt of Yankton, SD; daughter, Peggy (Dave) Walloch son, Kelly (Kay) Herrboldt and grandchildren:  Kelsey Walloch, Tori and Trent Herrboldt, all of Lesterville, SD.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Elsie Herrboldt; sisters:  Edna Handel, Leona Nusz and Irene Gillette and brother, Ewald Herrboldt.
