Rosella June Brady, age 94 of Yankton, SD was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 26, 2016. Rose passed away surrounded by her family in her home of 62 years. Memorial services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, SD with Pastor Jeremy Mulder officiating. Private family burial. Visitations will be from 1:30-3:00 PM before the service at the funeral chapel. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. On-line condolences may be sent at: www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.
Rosella was born on the family farm in Miner County, SD to Emil and Esther (Palmquist) Sammelson on June 16, 1922. She graduated from USD in 1943 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She went on to teach in Wagner, SD and Whiting, IA. Rosella met her future husband, Frank Brady in Vermillion, SD. She married Frank on January 31, 1948. In 1976, Rosella’s ever resourceful and inquisitive mind led her to a career in Real Estate. Her family has been greatly blessed by her devotion to God and her constant unconditional love for them.
Rosella will be greatly missed by her 5 children, Tom of Yankton, SD, Lynn (Doug) Schnepf of Prairie Village, KS; Joan (Tom) Coulson of Yankton, SD; Dan of Kansas City, MO, James of Long Beach, CA; 9 grandchildren: Beau Brady, Brooke (Eric) Lancaster, Erin (Brent) Racer, Kelly (Mandi) Schnepf, Cory (Morgan) Pietrus, Joey Coulson, Chelsea (Adam) Larson, Daniel Coulson, and Steven Brady; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Madeline (Jim) Crowe of St. Louis, MO; and brother-in-law, Father John Brady of Yankton, SD, and daughter-in-law, Jody Brady of Yankton, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, brother, Arthur Sammelson and his wife, Irene, sister, Jean Wilkinson and her husband, Robert and 2 infant sisters, Alvina and Ruth.
