Mrs. Baily was my first grade teacher and was FABULOUS! I remember her riding her bike to school, her gentle heart, the wonderful school adventures. Truly an angel on earth... Mrs. Baily, look up my dad and make sure he's behaving... My condolences to the Baily family... truly a HUGE LOSS to Yankton.

My condolences to family and friends of Helen Bailey.
Mrs. Baily was my first grade teacher. Like many, I’ll remember her for teaching me my “Apple words”, taking us to her home to dig Lily of the Valley from her yard to give to our mothers for Mother’s Day, and her unending kindness.
We lived near Beadle School and she was always so good to stop to say hi or wave as she went home on her bike, even years after we had left her classroom. She was truly a special teacher!
May she Rest In Peace and know how
many lives she has touched!

Jane, (Rob and Gregg)
I have so many great memories of your Mom letting us "hangout" on your front stoop.
We would see her walking home from Beadle school and we'd all start to behave, LOL.
But best of all she ALWAYS had a fresh cake for us to eat and maybe some other goodies too.
With her move to the Duplex on Walnut , we had more good times looking through old
stuff she had saved.
I remember I was so surprised to eventually find out she was related to Kaye Andrews, cus he had
his office in my Mom and Dad's Credit Bureau Building on 11th & Broadway and that my parents knew him well,
Also trips to Sx Falls with Helen to visit.....was it your Gramma, Jane? We teased her about her driving.
Anyway she was a very cool person to know. Condolences to you all.

I’m so sad to see the passing of “Beadle Baily.” She was one of the first grade teachers when I went to school there and was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma with my mom. You are in my prayers as you remember your sweet mom and grandma.

While most of her students didn't realize it at the time, Mrs. Baily had a heart filled with kindness, a soul filled with compassion and eyes that only saw great hopes and dreams of her students. May she rest in peace. My thoughts are with her family at this time.

As one of Dick Bowers' children, I, like my brothers and sisters, came to value Helen very highly during the years of her friendship with our father. I knew Helen to be immensely kind, compassionate, caring, wise and in possession of a truly wonderful sense of humor. My life is much richer for having known her and I value the friendship we had. Even after my father's death in 2002, seeing Helen was one of the highlights of my annual trip to Yankton. She will be greatly missed by so very many, including me. Condolences to the family.

What a wonderful, fulfilling life Helen led! I student taught under her way back in 1965! And then she was the first grade teacher for two of my children! So many great memories! Sending sympathy and prayers.
