Steve enlisted in the US Army in 1960 and did his basic training at Ft Hood,TX. He was stationed in Alaska from 1960-1962 with the Signal Corps.

I will never forget the summer days I spent helping Steve on the farm, especially the day he and I delivered a calf. Or the times he taught me how to drive a tractor and rake hay. Loved the breakfast meals Aunt Janis served, after the chores were done. And finally the many times participating at Chezk Days.
