Obituary of Michael Stock

STOCK MICHAEL

Michael Stock, age 60, of Yankton, SD passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Cedar Village, Yankton, SD.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, SD with Rev. Michael was born on March 7th,1963 to Richard and Joan (McCarthy) Stock in Yankton, SD. Michael lived and grew up in the Mission Hill area until moving into Yanton. Mike had been living at Cedar Village since 2008. He worked at the Hausman Mink Ranch in Yankton for 21 years and janitorial jobs around Yankton. His most recent job he had was with Impact where he showed passion and pride in his work.   Mike would volunteer his time at the Clothing Closet in Yankton.  He was known to have a big heart and always willing to help other people.  At Ceder Village, you would see him helping the staff, or other residents that might need some help with laundry or carrying in groceries.  In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed visiting his mom at the nursing home, sitting in her recliner drinking a soda and watching westerns with her.  Mike enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, boxing or drag racing, and enjoyed going fishing. He was also known for listening to his loud rap music. People at Cedar Village would be able to hear his music half way down the hall. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother Joan (McCarthy) Stock of Yankton SD, sister Mary (Stock) Schroeder of Sioux Falls, SD , Nieces - Jennifer (Stock) Kessler of Menno,SD, Brittaney (Schroeder) Rahm of Blue Springs,MO, Nicole (Schroeder) Jones of Garretson,SD, Great Nieces and Nephews - Kiani Banta and daughter Raeleigh of Sioux Falls, SD, Jarren Banta and son Jahmari of Sioux Falls, SD, Alexis Yosten, Desiree Yosten, and Hunter Yosten all of Menno, SD.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, father Richard and sister Theresa
