Obituary of Gloria Lacey

LACEY GLORIA Gloria Lacey, age 66 of Yankton, SD passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, SD is assisting with the service details. Gloria was born August 4, 1949 to Gerald and Wilma (Muhmel) Haas. After her birth mother’s death, Gerald married Doris Brandt, who became a true mother to her. Gloria married Steve Lacey on September 24, 1966. To this union, two sons, Steve and Chad, were born. They lived in Vermillion, SD where she ran a home daycare, and Yankton where she worked at Northwestern Public Service. Gloria spent many happy hours reading books with a cat sleeping in her lap. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, watching NFL football and spending time with her pets. She is survived by her husband, Steve Lacey of Yankton, SD; son Steve (Colleen) Lacey of Minneapolis, MN; and son Chad (Fonda) Lacey of Yankton; five grandchildren: Cleo, Wolfgang, Pepper, Ashley and Victor Lacey; brothers Rob (Deb) Haas of Beresford, SD; Dan (Della) Haas of Yankton, SD; and Tim (Nancy) Haas of Gayville, SD; and sister Geri Ann (Tom) Delaney of Clear Lake, IA; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friend, Corrine. She was preceded in death by her father Gerald Haas. Interment of her cremated remains will be in a private ceremony at a later date.
