Donavon F. Kleinschmit, age 49 of Crofton, NE passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, in Yankton, SD. Online condolences may be sent to www.opsahlkostelfuneralhome.com
Donavon was born on October 2, 1966 in Osmond, NE to Donald and Mary Jean (Zimmerman). He grew up on the family farm with his 8 siblings. He attended school at West Catholic and Yankton High School. After high school, he joined in with this dad and brothers in the hay business. He drove truck for Cimpl Meats. He was united in marriage to Wanda Stark on May 19, 1990 and together they started their DJ service called The Boot Scooters. In 1995, he started D & W Transportation and in April 2002, they purchased the bar now known as Delmonicos in Fordyce, NE. He worked part time for Zavadil Farms driving truck and for Meridian Bridge Resort as groundskeeper.
He loved his music, people, and his pet dogs. He wasn’t afraid to put in a hard and honest day of work.
He will be greatly missed by the love of his life Wanda; step children: Paul and Brenda Stark; brothers and sisters: Norm (Cindy) Kleinschmit, Mike (Carrie) Kleinschmit, Dennis (Vicki) Kleinschmit, Jeannie (John) Schwader, Donna (Troy) Schroeder, Pat (Krystal) Kleinschmit, Christopher (Shantell) Kleinschmit; sister-in-law, Joyce Kleinschmit and 19 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Jean, eldest brother, Gerard, his nephew, Jayson, niece, Tracy Schwader and his grandparents, George and Luella Kleinschmit and Louis and Cresentia Zimmerman.
