Obituary of William J. Grovijahn
GROVIJAHN WILLIAM
William (Bill) was born on June 18, 1935 to George and Mary (Marbach) Grovijahn. He was one of five children. Bill grew up and lived in the Yankton area, where he attended and graduated high school. In 1958 he was married to Dee Gross for 23 years and from this union, they had 3 children.
Bill was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His strong faith carried him through difficult times. Most of all he loved being with his family. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and having coffee with his friends. He often sometimes enjoyed taking a road trip and gambling! He began his career for the Yankton Local Post office where he served 29 years as a mail carrier and in customer service. On July 20th, 1982 Bill married his soul mate, Donna Rae Stahly and became a stepfather to 3 daughters.
Bill is survived by his wife, Donna Grovijahn of Yankton, SD; 5 children: Patty Grovijahn of Yankton, SD, Kathy (Kevin) Fiedler of Springfield, Kim (Glen) Zupfer of Yankton, SD, Stephanie (David) Highland of Yankton, SD and Michelle Stahly of Yankton, SD; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Grovijahn; sister, Lucy Grovijahn; brother, George Grovijahn and son, Tom Grovijahn.
