GIZIEWSKI MARK
Mark D. Giziewski age 62 of Yankton, SD passed away early Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his residence under hospice care. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, Yankton, SD with Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery, Yankton, SD. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mark D. Giziewski was born December 6th, 1954, in Huron, SD to Paul and Arlene (Williams) Giziewski. He graduated from Wagner High School and attended Huron College. He started
as an Insurance Agent working for Farm Bureau Insurance on June 1st, 1975 in Huron. He was
an agent in Wessington Springs and Brookings. He became a District Manager in
Aberdeen/Watertown and then moved to the Yankton office until retirement.
Mark married Lydia Hollmann on June 15, 1974 in Wagner and they had three children:
Tara, Amy, and Scott.
Mark was a charter member of LUTCF. He was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church with positions on various boards and committees. Mark and Lydia enjoyed bowling and neighborhood card parties. He also loved hunting and fishing and having pets. The last years Mark enjoyed spending time on the river on his pontoon.
Mark is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lydia; 3 children: Tara (Terry) Bush of Plankinton, SD, Amy (Clint) Bultsma of Plankinton SD, Scott (Mindy) Giziewski of Yankton SD; eleven grandchildren: Logan, Rylan and Teagan Bush, Megan, Grace, Seth, and Evan Bultsma, Josey and Tyler Kaiser, Kenzie and Trevor Giziewski, honorary granddaughter, Carly Joynt; Mark’s siblings: Lynn (John) Hamill of Omaha NE, Paula (Tim) Speidel of Belle Fourche SD, and Kevin (Kathy) Giziewski of Champlin, MN.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Arlene and his in-laws, Bill and Myrtle Hollmann.
