Obituary of Ann Metz
Ann Maibaum was born March 17, 1933 at home in Crofton, NE to Joseph and Minnie (Junkerfeurborn) Maibaum. She grew up in Crofton, NE and attended East Blyville Country School and received her high school diploma by studying at home and corresponding through mail with a school in Chicago, IL. She was employed by Gurney’s Seed and Nursery for many years. Ann married Duane Metz on August 18, 1986 in Stanton, NE by close friend Fr. Tim Lange. Ann was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of Yankton, SD and the St. Rose Ladies Guild.
She is survived by her husband Duane of Yankton, SD; her brother Konrad (Darlene) Maibaum of Crofton, NE; sister-in-law Kay (David) Armstrong of Ft. Collins, CO; four brothers-in-law Jim (Sue) Metz of Walls, MS, Gene (Linda) Metz of Phoenix, AZ, Alan (Lenora) Metz of Fayetteville, AK, and Doug (Barb) Metz of Matthews, NC; and many nieces and nephews and families. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law; Vern (Harriet) Metz, and her brother Vern.
