All my love,! Clark and I worked together at Ben Simon in Lincoln, NE. I hired him and we worked closely and traveled to NYC, LV,Chicago and the mens market in La. over and above the time we spent working his merchandising skills we truly enjoyed most of our time together. I do remember the time he got a little upset on the selling floor and through the telephone...had to go to offset to cam him down, He will always be a friend and close friend. I will always the good, positive impact he had on my and my wife’s life,!
All my love, Clark, and we most likely will see each other soon!

I am sorry to learn of Clark's death and send my sympathy and prayers. Clark was my next door neighbor in Winona and we enjoyed many conversations and a few dinners at his favorite Sullivan's over the years. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Clark will always be remembered as a kind and generous man. He was a confirmation sponsor for our son, who couldn't have had a better one. He was a dear friend to myself and all family members. His knowledge of places, dates and events was close to perfect. He wore a smile almost continually. Clark, I hope to have kindly touched as many lives as you did. You will always be remembered with warmest thoughts. Love you-FRIEND!!!! Sam Shea

What can one say about Sparky? He was a loyal and good friend, the kind of guy you don't meet to often in life. I had the pleasure to work with Clark in Winona for 20 years and the knowledge this guy had was like the Encyclopedia. He was the guy you wanted on your trivia team, no doubt about it. He would be the ringer most of the time. Clark was very devoted to his family and to his friends. He was the kind of guy you could call at 3 in the morning for help and he would be there.
Clark will be missed by many people especially by our family. Rest in peace good friend.
To Mary and her family our heartfelt condolences. It is always to early to lose a loved one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Spark and I have been best friends for 50 years. We first met at the University of South Dakota in January 1967 and we have been best friend ever since. Spark was a true friend to myself and my family. He was more like a brother to me. Boy, have I the stories about Spark. HA! Good ones about his experiences, ones that involved me and my family,
and others that are just full of humor and his sayings.
Everybody in their lifetime should experience having a friend like Spark. Unfortunately, most people never get to experience that. My family was that fortunate to experience it and it we feel privileged to have that experience.
Our condolences to the Johnson Family.
Spark will truly be missed by myself and my family along with many, many others.
Spark, I'm not going to say good bye to you but rather I'll say this " I'll catch up to you later big guy just save me a spot old friend".

Sparky was a friend, fraternity brother and room mate at USD. His off beat sense of humor is something I will never forget. That humor seemed to be there even as recently as September, on my last visit with him at Avera. Although communication was difficult at that point, the twinkle remain in his eyes. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Spark was a wonderful friend to my brother Steve and his family. Steve and Mary considered Spark more than an uncle to their children. Steve and I met him at the University of South Dakota and even then he had a classic car. Spark was likeable and congenial person and he will be greatly missed.

Clark was a Thoughtful, and Outstanding Gentleman. Had the Pleasure of Being his Partner in Retail and Wholesale Menswear World. Many great Memories of all The Times we spent together in Winona Meetings. Both Classic Car Fans, especially Porsche, we could talk at length. One Sat, we would normally work, Clark said would pick me up at 7:15, We started a Whirlwind trip to Cedar Rapids (Classic Cars of course, on to Des Moines and Creston Iowa, where i met family and Put Flowers on My Parents Grave Site, then back to Des Moines, with a Great Italian Dealer, then Back to Winona by 11 PM, all in One Day, ready to catch up on our Buying/Selling Job on Sunday, that was Clark. Several other stories of the Same Kindness. Got along well, had a temper from time to time, but never with me. I started talking cars, and settled him down quick.
Clark My Friend, RIP and thanks for your Great Business Friendship, you knew your business, and we wasted No Time writing those Orders for Thousands of Units Yearly, we were right 98% The Time, Not Bad !

We are so sorry to hear of Spark's passing. He was a special person and we thought of him as a brother more than a friend. He was there for us when we lost our daughter, Stephanie to cancer and has been a wonderful friend to Steve since college. He will always be in our hearts. We will miss his smile, his sense of humor, his kindness. Best friend ever.
