Obituary of Rosina Elizabeth Schorzmann
Rose was born April 19, 1918 in rural Menno, SD to William and Augusta (Dierks) Zeeb. She was the youngest of five children. She attended Zeeb school through the eighth grade. On August 22, 1937 she married Ruben Schorzmann. They farmed in the Menno and Tripp area until they moved to Menno in 1982. Rose was always busy on the farm. She had a big garden and canned anything she could find. She milked many Holstein cows by hand and sold cream, eggs and homemade cottage cheese for years. She was a talented seamstress and made matching dresses for her three granddaughters and made many double-knit quilts. She took care of her mother for over twenty years. In November of 2012 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and entered the Menno Olivet Care Center in March of 2013.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Donald Theo) Auch; grandchildren: Monica Ann (Mel) Alexander, Lisa Jo (David) Grosz, May Beth (Mark) Duin, Anthony (Bonnie) Auch and James (Denise) Auch; eight great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson and two great-great-granddaughters.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2000; daughter, Marilyn in 1999; sisters: Nettie Schmidt, Elsie Heinle and Lillian Schmidtgall; brother, Ruben Zeeb and her great-grandson, Corp. Matthew Alexander in 2007.
The family extends an invitation to lunch at the American Legion immediately following the burial.
