Patti and Dr. Rhoades children,
So Sorry to hear of Dr. Rhoades passing. My prayers are with you. May God Bless all of you. I'm thankful for all the new technology. Since we were out of town, I wasn't able to attend the funeral. Today I was able to sit down at my computer and take part in the funeral mass. Dr. Rhoades was a very accomplished orthopedic surgeon. He had a very successful medical practice. It was great to work with someone who provided so much care to so many people. He always had time to see everyone who needed his orthopedic medical treatment. May he be at Peace.
Rosie Wootton

I had the privilege of practicing with Marque at the Yankton Medical Clinic for many years. Having been a Bush Fellow himself, he was an inspiration for me to purse the same fellowship. This provided for me a wonderful opportunity to explore the healing power of our minds and create a stress management program in Yankton for several years. He was a true leader in our medical community and I always appreciated his efforts to help the medical community ways to improve itself. His dry, quiet and pointed humor was a jewel to experience. I know his deep presence will be missed by all.

Rhoades Family,
My deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law, etc.
I worked at the YMC and was lucky to work with Dr. Rhoades. I covered a vacation for Rosie once and actually got him to smile and say good morning every day of that week (mostly because I drove him crazy with that "Good Morning Dr. Rhoades just so he could get me off his back!) I too shared his dry humor. Luckily he was also my orthopedic doctor when I broke my ankle the day before Rosie got back and he placed my cast and we both got back to work! He greeted me every day I saw him after that. He was a gifted surgeon and giving man and I am thankful I got to know him both in a professional and personal capacity. I will hold my memories of him close.

To Marc's family: I'm late on this = sorry. I really liked Marc = Dr. Marc! He helped me in consulting situations and as a friend I enjoyed his company. He was a fine athlete. He took my (now Med Dco son Paul) to watch Paul's first viewing of surgery years ago. Paul was then in high school . He has been a board certfied doc now for over 25 years!
Best to you, his family! John P. Blackburn

So sorry to read of Dr Rhoades passing. I remember a few trips he chaperoned a group of high school track kids to AAU meets around the state. We always had fun! He was a kind soul. May Gods warm embrace comfort his family during this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a good friend to us when Jim was in the hospital having his liver transplant. The last I seen your Dad was at Pastor Jim's funeral but he didn't stay to talk. I remember when we had dinner with and if he didn't like something like broccoli he would say I can't eat that it causes cancer
He had a quite sence of humor. I also Jim saying home owner Anna banana. May he rest in peace and may you feel the peace and strenght that only Jesus can give. Precious memories for me.

Deepest condolences to the Rhoades family. I benefited from Dr. Rhoades expertise when he performed scope and later ACL replacement surgery on me in the early 1980s when I was in high school and later college. He was always very thorough and great at explaining the process to his patients. Over the years he helped so many people! May you all find comfort in your memories of him.

I met Dr. Marc as a high school and collegiate athlete, he operated on me twice putting steel in and later taking it out. He enabled my career by his proficiency. He allowed my brother, Dr. Randal Welter, to participate in my surgery with him while he was a resident. It was comforting to have them both in the room.
I remember Marc as a kind and gentle guy. I competed in sports with Mike [track] and was able to see him as a dad. Again, winner !
Great life, great legacy. Priorities in the Lord, God bless him.
