Obituary of George Malcolm Jameson
Dr. Mal Jameson, 96, of Yankton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Sister James Care Center in Yankton.
Born in Sioux Falls, SD, he graduated from Washington High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944. Mal attended Augustana College, the University of South Dakota and Temple University. He practiced family medicine for over 40 years, in both Sioux Falls and Yankton.
Mal was an avid reader, had multiple and varied interests, and valued his many friends and colleagues. He attributed his long life to good genes and exercise.
Dr. Jameson is survived by his three children, Katherine Strotman, David Jameson and Brian Jameson, their spouses, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Donations in Mal’s honor may be made to the Mead Museum at meadbuilding.org or South Dakota Public Broadcasting at sdpb.org.
