Obituary of Jeanette Kotalik
KOTALIK JEANETTE
Jeanette Kotalik, age 80 of rural Lesterville, SD passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Tyndall Good Samaritan Society, Tyndall, SD. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 16, 2024, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Tabor, SD with Rev. Darin Schmidt officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery after cremation, Tabor, SD. Visitations will begin at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Tabor, SD with a Wake service at 7:00 PM. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. The Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Tabor, SD is assisting with the service details. Jeanette Blaschke was born November 2, 1943, in Fordyce, Nebraska to Emil and Evelyn (Schempp) Blaschke. She grew up in Fordyce and attended catholic school there. Jeanette later attended Fordyce High School.
On September 9, 1972, she married Dan Kotalik at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton. Jeanette worked at Sacred Heart Hospital until 1973 when she and Dan moved to their farm outside of Lesterville, South Dakota where she resided the rest of her life. While on the farm, Jeanette raised their children, helped on the farm and especially liked caring for the baby farm animals.
Jeanette is survived by her husband Dan of Lesterville; son Mark Kotalik of Lesterville; daughter Lisa Kotalik of Lesterville; and nephew Tom Blaschke of Yankton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister in law Jim (Mona) Blaschke, and nephews Kelly Blaschke and Chad Blaschke.
