Tramp Quinten

Quinten Tramp, age 87, of Yankton, SD passed away peacefully  Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton with his family by his side. Visitations will be Sunday, June 9, 2024, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee from 2:00-4:00 pm with a 4:00 pm rosary service and resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Monday, June 10, 2024, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee with Fr. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Menominee. Online condolences may be sent at www.opsahl-kostelfuneralhome.com.

He was born on October 3, 1936 to Herman and Alma (Bartz) Tramp. At a young age he began his farming career working on the family farm.  On October 29, 1957 he married the love of his life Imogene Schmidt.  They settle on a farm north of Crofton, NE where they raised four children; Geralyn, Lisa, Amy and Quinten Jr.  On his farm he raised hogs and cattle.  He was a successful Vigortone Feeds sales representative for 20 plus years.  He earned top sales in the country many years taking him and his wife on many trips. 

His family and his faith were most important things to him in life.  He looked forward to praying the rosary daily.  He is a member of the St. Boniface Catholic church.     

He is survived by his  children and spouses Geralyn (Mitch) LaCroix of Vermillion; Lisa Tejral of Yankton; Amy (late Bill) Tejral of Crofton and Quinten (Mary) Tramp of Colorado Springs, CO; 16 Grandchildren and their spouses:  Josh (Tiffany) Allen, Chad (Amber) Allen, Brett (Kiley) Allen, Drew (Karolyn) Allen, Luke LaCroix, Emily Tejral, Robert Tejral, Alicia (Harrison) Haase, Samuel Tejral, Phillip Tejral, Reilly Tramp, Kayla Tramp, Carly (Shawn) McEuen, Lauren (Mitch) Meyer, Shauna (Andy) Smith, Danny Beavor and 25 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brothers/sisters and spouses: Charles Tramp, Wilfred (Donna) Tramp, Norman (Carol) Tramp, Marcelene (Arven) Kathol; brother/sister-in-laws; Marilyn Tramp, Anna Mae (Donald) Zimmerman, and Margaret Schmidt.

He is preceded in death by his wife Imogene, parents Herman and Alma Tramp; his father/mother-in-law Theodore and Mary Schmidt; infant grandson Quinten William Tramp; son-in-law Bill Tejral; siblings Rosemary and Elmer Jansen, Harold Tramp; brother/sisters-in-law:  Geralda Tramp, Virgil and Donna Schmidt, Stanley Schmidt, Lugardis and Erwin Bonertz, Darlene and John Lammers.

We will miss his big heart, smile and the countless games of Sheephead, Rummy and Bingo playing.  Quinten had a love for baseball, playing in his younger years to softball playing when he was older.  You would often find him watching or listening to a MN Twin’s game.
