William (Bill) Fergen passed away comfortably in his home surrounded by his wife May 5, 2015 at the age of 64. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, May 8, 2015 at Peace Christian Reformed Church, Menno, SD with Rev. Steve Moerman officiating. Burial will be in the Menno Cemetery. Visitations will be from 5-7 PM, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Peace Christian Reformed Church with a 7 PM prayer service. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Aisenbrey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial Chapel, Menno is in care of the arrangements. William "Bill" Joseph Fergen was born to Francis & Celine (Jung) Fergen on February 18, 1951 in Parkston, SD. Bill was baptized February 25, 1951 by Father William Schmitt at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dimock, SD and attended SS Peter and Paul Parochial School, then graduated from Parkston High School in 1969. He was united in marriage to Audrey Aisenbrey August 11, 1972 at Salem Reformed Church in Menno SD by Rev. Odenbach. Bill graduated from University of South Dakota in Vermillion in 1973 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Bill and Audrey lived for a short time in the Mitchell area where Bill worked as Production Manager at KXON (later known as KDLT television.) Bill and Audrey moved to the community of Menno in 1975 where Bill, along with his brother-in-law, Dennis, bought Ed's Food Market from Edwin Aisenbrey (Audrey's father.) In Menno, Bill and Audrey raised 4 boys where he was involved in many community events including being on a search committee to bring a Doctor to Menno, Menno JayCee's, Community Club, City Counsel, Men's slow pitch softball, Cub Scouts, St. Boniface Catholic Church choir, FFA Foundation at Menno School, and enjoyed helping customers and making grocery deliveries at Ed's Food Market until he was unable to do so because of his health. Bill was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church of rural Freeman, then later joined Peace Christian Reformed Church of Menno, SD. Bill was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 38 and dealt with his disease the best he could, retiring early from the grocery. Bill enjoyed being at home where he could see his grandkids often and would love having the activity around at family gatherings. Bill is survived by his wife, Audrey of Menno, SD; four sons: Chris (Chrissy) and children: Hailey, Brady, Alana, and Isaac of Menno, SD, Brian (Jadi) and children: Keelan, Dylan, and Jackson of Colorado Springs, CO, Danny (Kansas) and children: Coyer, Kedren, Baylic, and Daeston of Sioux Falls, SD, and David (Mandy) and children: Ashlynn and Joanna of Menno, SD; his parents, Francis and Celine; mother-in-law, Nora; three brothers: Larry, Keith, and Kevin; two sisters, Elaine and Beverly, along with their spouses and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Edwin Aisenbrey and niece, Jessica Fergen.
