Lucile E. Jensen age 96, of Hartington, NE passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Park View Haven Nursing Home, Coleridge, NE. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, NE, with Rev. Amanda Jertson officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date. Visitations will begin at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with a Scripture service at 7:00 PM. Visitations will resume, Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Jody Jensen, Ken Jensen, Jim Pycha, Dustin Stegemann, Chase Goeken and George Haahr. The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory, Yankton, SD is assisting with the service details. Lucile was born October 20, 1918 to Joseph and Ethel (Gothier) Bergman at home on the farm in Obert, NE. She was baptized and confirmed in Obert, NE. She attended Branch Country School in Cedar County. She was united in marriage to Anton (Tony) Jensen, Jr. on December 15, 1936 in Yankton, SD. Lucile and Tony farmed east of Hartington with Tony's parents, Anton and Elsie and eventually bought the farm from them. After Tony's health declined, they moved to Hartington. They were married for 29 years when Anton passed away. She was employed by the Hartington Public Schools as a head dietician for 34 years. She also owned the Hotel Coffee Shop. Until her late 80's, she cleaned at the Farmers Merchant. As a home health care provider, she took care of the "older ladies" that were younger than her. Lucile lived in her home in Hartington for 61 years and through those years, she took numerous borders at her house. She was a member of the Love Day "Quilting", Ladies Aid and the Ladies Auxiliary. Lucile volunteered doing church work doing various jobs and was a Sunday School Treasurer. She also worked at the fair stand. She enjoyed making quilts, embroidering, gardening, canning, crocheting, cooking and drinking coffee with friends. Lucile is survived by her son, Anton Joseph Jensen, Jr. (Tim), his wife Claudette (Hochstein) of Hartington, NE; daughter, Sally Jensen Burrichter, her husband Jim of Cimarron, CO; grandchildren: Marylou (Bob) Pycha of Scribner, NE, Anton Joseph (Jody) (Rhonda) Jensen II of North Bend, NE, Ken (Bonnie) Jensen of Newcastle, NE, Tiffani (Lee) Stegemann of Wayne, NE, Rebecca "Becky" Tennery of Ventura, CA and Erin Catalano of Montrose, CO; 16 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Madeline Kruse of Fullerton, CA, Dorothy Nichols of Milwaukie, OR and Loretta Bottolfsen of Beemer, NE. Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, Anton Jensen Jr. (Tony), her parents, 3 siblings: Dale Bergman, Glen (Irene) Bergman and Laura (Francis) Bergman Whitehorn, granddaughter, Michelle Jensen Gatzemeyer, grandson, Pat Thomas, brothers-in-law, Herb Bottolfsen, Eddie Kruse, Rusty Nichols and Leo Nielsen.
