Laurentia B. Bonertz, age 94 of Yankton passed on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2014 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton with Rev. Ken Lulf officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitations will begin at 5 PM, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory, Yankton with a 7 PM Wake service. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
Laurentia was born September 30, 1920 in Constance, NE to Steve and Mary (Lange) Keiser. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. Laurentia was united in marriage to Ralph (Pete) Bonertz on June 10, 1953 in Yankton, SD. She had a love for the outdoors and being a farm wife, especially gardening. She also loved her sewing, craftwork and being a mom
Her memory will be cherished by her children: Terry (Karen) Bonertz of Minneapolis, MN, Keith (Rossi) Bonertz of Spokane, WA, Kevin (Jessica) Bonertz of Salt Lake, UT, Pamela (Mark) Sechser of Harrisburg, SD, Beverly (Jerome) Mueller of St. Helena, NE, Lynae Bonertz of Lincoln, NE, Dale (Cecilia) Bonertz of Fort Collins, CO and Diane Bonertz of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Sr. Elmera Keiser of Yankton, SD; sisters-in-law, Lugardis Bonertz of York NE and Viola Suing of Hartington, NE and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, parents, and brothers and sisters: Ed Keiser, Ray Keiser, Hilda Maly and Pauline Kohles.
