To the Tappe Family, I worked with Ron as a Sherwin Williams employee right out of College in 1988 in the same district. I only knew him briefly but he was generous with his time to me when I was a rookie in the industry. My condolences to the family.

Ron was truly a good, smart and honest man. He hired me at Sherwin Williams in the early 90's, and he is the main reason I'm still with the company after 28 years! People from all walks of life came into the store to buy paint from Ron, period. Sometimes if he wasn't in, they would come back later because everyone just really enjoyed talking to Tappe! Sometimes I don't think people even needed anything, but they bought something anyway just to chat with Ron. Regardless of your social status, he could find common ground and relate. Ron listened more than he talked, he smiled a lot and laughter came easily. Ron, you made a positive impact on the community and many, many people. You will be missed!

I actually bought my 1st car from Ron. It was a Skylark that he had fixed up and had painted. When we built our first house he was so helpful when picking out paint and carpet colors. Such a kind man that the community will miss. RIP Ron Marlys Johnson Hines

RIP, Ron Tappe! Many great memories from back in my high school days! Ron was a bit older, but through the years Lois and I enjoyed both his and JoAnn's company many times. They both were so appreciative of the annual "Spring Fling" parties we had in AZ. I don't think Ron ever had a enemy...to live 82yrs. with that as his personality, is nothing shy of REMARKABLE! I worked for Ron many years ago at Gibson's in Norfolk. I took care of the candy dept. And made those big banner signs that hung in the windows. I was just a kid. I will never forget Ron's kindness and good humor. I tried to incorporate the lessons he taught me in my career. I looked forward to going to work. Ron was the reason. Lost track of him after I went off to Lincoln to finish my education. So sorry for your loss. Terry Carstens
